For the second time, Clarissa Raylene and I worked to get her some fresh hairstylist brand photos for her social media. Last time, we did her branding photos in the hair studio, but this time she opted for a more carefree, edgy, outdoor vibe to really show HER personality! Obsessed is the word. With iced coffee in hand, good jams on the speaker, and perfect weather, we couldn’t have asked for more as we posted up at the RiverEdge Park pedestrian bridge in downtown Aurora. Plus, Clarissa is just the definition of stunnninggg (and an incredible hairstylist/colorist) so it’s no wonder these are some of my favorite branding photos to date!
Time for hair change and location number 2! Actually, we walked just a few quick steps away to a random spot on the path. It looked unassuming, but I saw potential and the light was beautiful. We pulled her hair back and took some softer, more headshot- and creative-like photos. Because let’s be real, for hairstyist brand photos you kinda have to show off your own hair. 😉
When you’re getting your brand photos done, a good rule of thumb is to include various backgrounds, outfits, hairstyles, or props. This helps to give you a diversity to use across your website and social media, without being too redundant with all the same looks. Add props to show what you do or what tools you use daily. Change up your hair to show what you look like day to day. Use colors and backgrounds that speak to your brand and personal style and that will stand out online.
If you’re a local small business, entrepreneur, or have a personal brand in the western Chicago suburbs, listen up.
When was the last time you invested in fresh new headshots or brand images?
Are you taking pics all on your smartphone, slapping quick filters on, or asking friends to grab some behind the scenes?
Now, there’s nothing wrong with that for social media content. However, there is so much value in having professional images to elevate your brand and establish trust as an expert in your industry.
