Each year, our annual tulip field photos near Chicago area get better and better. The 2024 season was no exception – I mean just look at these absolutely stunning families! We faced every bit of weather within just a couple days (rain, clouds, abundant sunshine, and even a thunderstorm that showed up at the very end and soaked us on the way to our cars!). But boy, was it worth it – again.

Annual Tulip Field Photos Near Chicago

So what’s so special about these sessions and how do you get to be apart of them? Each year, there is a very small window of time where the tulip blooms show their faces. From end of April to beginning of March, the ground comes alive with the vibrant colors of tulips across Chicagoland. A few years ago, I opened up my books for families to have a limited opportunity to have their photos taken in the large fields. Because who wants a normal outside photo in the grass when you can have the most unique and timeless backdrop of an abundant spring flower field?

Each year, we take photos to the Midwest Tulip Festival, which is at the beautiful Kuipers Family Farm in Maple Park, Illinois. Less than an hour drive from downtown Chicago, it’s one of the closest and largest tulip fields in the area with easy access off route 88. Not only does it boast over 650,000 blooms, it’s also filled with tons of family activities such as slides, jumping pillow, playgrounds, live animals, and so much more that’s all included in your entry ticket. They also host live music and have food stands available. There’s no shortage of things to see and do that are fun for the whole family, from the littles to the grandmas.
