Every once in a while, I step away from photographing mature adults, and enter the world of innocent childhood. I never regret it, because it always such a joy to capture children in their element.
I’m reminded of the freedom, the innocence, the absolute certainty that anything is possible. The dreams. The excitement for the future.
I see myself in their shoes, and wish I could be there again. But since I can’t, I’ll just continue to enjoy photographing the chubby fingers, bright eyes, curly-topped heads I always fall in love with.
This particular session with Maddie was SO much fun. Her awesome mom bought an incredibly adorable outfit with vintage high-top boots, and I found a perfect piece of luggage at a local antique shop. Together, we put together a simple styled session that transported us back in time a little. Maddie was a trooper through the chilly weather, and even finished up the session with some fun in the leaves.
