Do we love college campus senior photos? YES! Graduating with a master’s degree is no small thing—and for Hanafin, it marked the close of one long chapter and the start of her future. So I was pumped when she chose campus as the place to take photos and celebrate such an incredible accomplishment. This session was sooo much fun to plan and shoot together! Keep scrolling for the prettiest Aurora University senior photos.
Let me just say first: I know that senior photos are mostly known as being a “high school” thing. But, I’m all about squashing that stereotype and making college senior photos popular!
For anyone graduating—whether it’s from undergrad or grad school—it’s worth slowing down and celebrating what you’ve accomplished. You’ve worked hard for it. Invest in the photos, because who knows where life will take you from here!
Here’s another college senior I worked with, Jenny, who also graded AU and took her college senior photos at Oakhurt Forest Preserve in Aurora, Illinois.
Back to Hanafin. Aurora University campus is simply stunning! We started her session around the historic liberal arts building, which looks like an old castle with its beautiful architecture. The spring weather held back the rain for us, so it was the perfect time to walk the grounds. We got the classic college campus senior pictures with her cap and gown, and then moved into something a little more personal—her Aurora Spartans baseball tee on the bleachers and football field. So fun.
Hanafin absolutely slayed this next jumpsuit outfit!! She had a vision to include the social work and psychology book that she’s been studying the past few years. Such a great idea. Of course, I was fully on board and we had fun with it.
Originally from southern Illinois, Hanafin attended Aurora University online for her graduate program in school social work. Graduating the same weekend as her 25th birthday, and as a first-generation college student, it was an especially meaningful accomplishment.
Fun fact about me, I loove hearing about my client’s stories and what led you to where you are now. So it was no exception with Hanafin! I asked what drew her to school social work. She shared that she loves working with junior high and high school students, and is currently doing an internship that includes a range of age groups. Her passion comes from experience—growing up, she didn’t always have someone to guide her, and she wants to be that person for others. Her grandmother, who raised her, was a huge influence and example of working hard to build a good life. That independence shows in the way she approaches everything, including her education. (Soo inspiring, right?!)
If you’re getting close to graduation and want to celebrate with a photo session, I’d love to help. As an Aurora senior photographer, I know the best places around campus (and beyond) and how to capture your story in a way that feels true to you.
