Senior photos + wildflowers = heavenly. You can’t change my mind! This session with Erica, a 2026 senior with Aurora Christian School, was all things magical and sweet, just like her personality.
Two years ago, I had the joy of photographing her older sister Julia’s senior portraits in downtown Wheaton. Now it was Erica’s turn. Being invited back to capture another milestone for the same family is so, so special. They are a beautiful family and raising the most wonderful young ladies!
When Erica described what she wanted for her senior photos, she asked for wildflowers, tall grass, and a natural field backdrop. Right away, I knew Oakhurst Forest Preserve in Aurora, Illinois would be perfect. This preserve is one of my favorite local spots because it offers a variety of scenery—open fields, wildlife, and immaculate views.
Quick note: Love Instagram and want to peek behind the scenes of what I do? Here’s a sweet video of Erica’s mom reacting to these photos. And here is my little assistant my 6-year old daughter directing and taking photos of Erica at the end of our session.
As an Aurora senior photographer, I love guiding seniors to plan a session that reflect their personalities. Erica is gentle, kind, and thoughtful. So we chose a setting and outfit colors that fit her perfectly.
Above all, I will always hold to the truth that senior photos is about more than just pretty pictures—it’s about documenting a season of life that deserves to be remembered. Whether it’s in wildflowers, by the water, or in downtown Aurora, I aim to create senior portraits that feel true to each person I photograph.
If you’re looking for Aurora senior photos that highlight your unique personality, Oakhurst Forest Preserve is a wonderful option. But I also have a long list of many other incredible places where we can imagine up beautiful images for you!
