There’s something magical about sunflowers. Their bright yellow faces follow the sun, creating a stunning backdrop for any photograph. As an Illinois photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing countless moments for families in various locations, but these sunflower field family photos I recently took are some of my favorites.
Sunflower Field Family Photos in Illinois
This particular session was special because it involved some of my closest friends and their three precious kids. The day was perfect. We were blessed with overcast yet bright skies, and the sunflowers enjoying the last of their short vibrant life. Wiltse’s Family Farm in Maple Park, Illinois is family-owned, private and smaller than some of the bigger farms around Illinois, so I love taking clients here for a more intimate experience! Their staff is so kind and there is a ton of variety of other flowers.

Photos in the Zinnia and Wildflower Fields
The farm itself is a treasure trove for photos. Not only does it boast vast sunflower fields, but it also has beautiful zinnia fields that added a pop of color and variety. The vibrant reds, pinks, and oranges of the zinnias contrasted beautifully with the sunny yellows of the sunflowers, giving us plenty of stunning backdrops to work with. This may have secretly brought about my favorite photos from the day!
