Hello! I'm Charity, a photographer, mama, and believer based in the western burbs of Chicago.

Meet charity

Last week I teamed up with online boutique Embers & Arrows to create some new images for their summer product line. I’ve realized how much I absolutely love partnering with small business, especially with girl’s fashion and interests, and I certainly plan on more collaborations in the future. This particular shop is near to my heart because it’s owned by none other than my sister, Reese. Family first! 😉

My model was the brave and beautiful Katie, a new friend and sweet heart from the college group my husband and I lead at our church. She had her first experience as a model, and might I say she did amazing? Embers + Arrows is lucky to have her beautiful face and bright green eyes to help share their product!

Bohemian fashion is all the rage now, which means that every girl *needs* a tie-up headband to top off their messy bun or accessorized outfit. That’s where Embers & Arrows comes in, to offer you a one-stop shop for nearly every type and color of headband you could want. From solids to florals, neutrals to bolds, Embers & Arrows offers a wide variety of styles that can fit the simplest or wildest girl. And the best part? They are all hand-made, sewn, and packaged by Reese in her home! (If you follow her on Instagram, you’ll see her new baby Braelyn  – that’s my niece, y’all – helping mommy by chewing on leftover fabric and modeling for her baby cardigans and headbands! THEE cutest!)

Embers & Arrows has grown in popularity over the last year.

The Etsy shop now has nearly 800 admirers, a 5-star rating from 200 reviews, and has sent out over 1,200 orders!

Reese says on her site, “This shop was born out of my love to create and my desire to help support my little family, in whatever ways I could. I love headbands and accessories and began to make my own headbands when I couldn’t find the patterns and styles I was looking for when I would shop. Some time later I decided to share my makings on Etsy so others could enjoy them as much as I do! I love unique and cozy fabrics with an emphasis on bohemian, tribal, and earthy colors and patterns. I hope you find something you love and come back for more!”

In addition to the high-quality fabric and ultra soft material, she is always running sales and deals and giveaways. Right now you can buy any three adult headbands and get one free with code: HEYGIRL443.

PS. That’s me in the middle! 😉 Thanks to Katie’s awesome boyfriend Louke for that shot!

If you’d like to help support a small business AND want to rock some fresh summer swag, head over to Embers & Arrows and grab your favorite headband. Tell her Charity sent you! 🙂

Thank you to Reese for partnering with me, and for Katie being ready and willing on such quick notice to lend your gorgeous face.

Happy shopping!

Everyone needs support and love, especially small business that are being run from the home, or managed on the side by hardworking boss-ladies! It’s why I’ve decided to launch a new “Brand Spotlight” series, where I will occasionally highlight a brand that is making waves in the industry, no matter how small. I’m especially interested in businesses that are giving back or standing for a cause. When I personally shop, I am always drawn to the brands that give me a chance to make a difference with my purchase.
